The Gift of Challenges

Life is a crazy little journey! I think we can all agree on that! No matter what we come to expect or think will happen or be, somehow life shows us otherwise.  I have learned through the years that we can either take these life challenges and feel defeated and ask “why” or we can find a new perspective on them.  It took me a long time to realize that no matter how I thought things should go or what my opinion was on what, how, or why, the truth was, that I did not have control over every aspect of life.  I know that if someone had told me that I would be in the space I am now at my age, I would have never imagined everything I have gone through and overcome.  With the good and the bad, our journey during this lifetime will definitely have surprises along the way.  I have never met a person that planned out their life and everything went exactly as they had planned in every way!  Love

While the good times in life are wonderful and joyous, the things we learn the most from are the challenges.  This is what I call the gift of challenges. When we look through times in life when we have learned the most, it certainly is not when things were easy and fabulous.  The times when we honestly had to dig deep and look within are most likely times in our lives when we were having difficulties.  I really  believe that these hard times and challenges are what make us who we are.

Accepting Joy

The lesson that has become so valuable to me is the not just accepting challenges and moving through them, but to appreciate and have gratitude for the challenges as well.  I like to think that without the struggle, there is no story to our lives.  If we were born, had nothing happen that pushed us out of our comfort zones, and existed with no resistance, what would our spirits learn and how would we have grown? The purpose on this earth is to learn, to grow, and to expand our souls.  If we were all knowing and had nothing to grow from, then what would be the purpose? I am grateful that now I can see the bigger picture of how essential these challenges in my life are.  Even perhaps appreciate those people in my life that have really pushed my boundaries when I felt hurt, betrayed, or angry. When you make the choice to see that people and circumstances serve a greater purpose to make you a better person then you can let go of resistance to actually learning the lesson.  I also believe that we will keep experiencing the same challenges in different forms until we fully and completely learn the lesson and stop repeating negative patterns.  I see so many people that are given many chances to learn and navigate through different challenges in their lives and so many times they make the same mistake time and time again.  They then wonder why things don’t go their way and thus get on the treadmill to nowhere going round and round in these negative choices. The sooner we learn to accept, have gratitude and make the necessary adjustments in our lives according to our challenges the more fulfilling and joyful our lives become.

Look into your lifeI hope in each of our lives we can all come to appreciate our challenges.  See that they are a gift to become better, grow and learn, appreciate all that we have big and small.  I love that we have the option to choose how we view and perceive the things in our lives.  I’m happy challenges make me a better person, make me  more knowledgeable and help create the woman I am.  I am blessed. We are all blessed with joy and challenge.  Every ingredient is an essential part of making us whole.  Embrace this, don’t fight it.  It will truly make our lives much simpler and less confusing.  Know these challenges are part of your divine plan.  They are a gift. You are loved. Each part of this journey is benefiting you in ways you are not even aware of.  Take it all in and find the good.  Appreciate, embrace and be thankful you are learning.  I am grateful for you all and everything that I am positive and negative.

Much Love.

Xo, Sascha

I really love this post. Life has a funny way of doing whatever it wants, despite what you have planned. Things always work out the way they are meant to, even if it means going through something difficult in order to get there. I totally agree with you, the challenges we face in life are what shape us to who we are meant to be. Without struggles, life would not be worth what it is.
Loving your posts! Keep up the great work!
