Santorini Greece

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants House

Beautiful Santorini, Greece was a dream!!  This stunning island is absolutely magical and like a fairytale.  I had such an amazing time there and was so grateful that I had the opportunity to see this great country. The area on this island that we stayed in was the lovely Oia.  It is a quaint little village that is a popular destination for visitors and tourists alike.  The movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was filmed in this area and in fact right in front of this home pictured above!!  It’s a cute little movie from 2005 with actresses Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Alexis Bledel.  If you haven’t seen it, it is definitely worth the watch!!  Mediterranean Beauty

Stunning Santorini Greece

I was so appreciative of this country and its culture.  Everywhere we went people were so kind, generous, and wonderful.  We stayed at a darling cave home that we had found on Home Away and the owner Maria was one of the nicest people I have ever met.  The homes in this area are built into the mountain and are literally little caves all along the tops of the hills.  Little paths wind through all of the homes and shops like a little maze and with the steep hillsides it was a workout just getting around for sure!!  The first day there we hiked down to the sea and it was one of the most difficult hikes back up the mountain that I have ever done! It is around 90 degrees during the summer months in Santorini and with the humidity as well it was like a hot yoga class workout! The paths are so steep to the water that they have burros that you can ride to take you up and down the steep, difficult path. I don’t even know how those animals make that trek with carrying people on their backs! I could barely make it on my own!! Paths in SantoriniThe stunning white and blue colors of this area make every view incredible.  There were so many amazing restaurants, quaint boutiques, and beauty at every turn.  I was so happy that I had the pleasure of experiencing Greece.  I had many people ask me before I traveled to this country if I was concerned with the economic crisis and situation there.  Quite honestly I was not worried about this before I arrived there and much to my joy this was not a factor in our stay here what so ever.  It made me sad that the media propels all the negativity about Greece’s financial stance, most likely deterring many from visiting the spectacular country only to hurt the economy there even more so by keeping tourism away.  I have never been to a place that was more beautiful or more lovely.  I honestly cannot say enough of how warm, kind and  hospitable the Greek people were.  I met some of the most wonderful human beings and was absolutely touched and moved by their spirits and how appreciative I was at just genuinely good people. I hope at some time all of you will have the pleasure of visiting Greece.  It is an experience of a lifetime and we should all be so fortunate to see its beauty and the kindness of the culture.Skirt and Shirt H&M, Sunglasses RaybansPool resort and Mediterranean viewAspyn and the steep steps of SantoriniEvery detail in Oia, Santorini is so charming and adorable.  I loved all the pops of color, crisp white buildings, and gorgeous views.  Every path was an adventure full of beauty and diversity of all cultures with this area drawing visitors from countries all over the world!

Much Love.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay in my country! It was so lovely reading all your kind words! It’s so unfair that everyone is slandering Greece and saying all these absurd things without having any clue of what the situation is actually like. I really hope you get to come here again and visit my city Thessaloniki with your beautiful daughter and Parker!
